House Teams

The House System

At Bannockburn Primary School we believe all children should be given a sense of belonging within our school community through encouragement to be positive role models and part of a supportive team.

The House system creates friendly competition, promotes good work and behaviour, encourages teamwork, provides opportunities to take on responsibilities and brings everyone in the school together.

Every child who attends our school is assigned to one of four ‘houses’. Each house is made up of pupils of different ages from Reception through to the Year 6.

There are four houses at Bannockburn Primary School, which are each led by an adult Head of House.

Heads of House

  • Alizarin House, led by Mrs Manser
  • Emerald House, led by Mrs Sammarco
  • Indigo House, led by Mr Griffiths
  • Ochre House, led by Mr Voke

House Captains

  • Alizarin House Captain - Daren Mihaylov
  • Emerald House Captain - Jashan Kaur
  • Indigo House Captain - Kwame Adusei
  • Ochre House Captain - Alvin Nosakhare

As part of the wider curriculum at Bannockburn we understand the importance of providing more opportunities for our older pupils to take responsibility and develop leadership skills.

At the beginning of the academic year assemblies are held across both sites (High Street and Manor Way) in order for the student body to elect House Captains. One pupil from Year 6 is elected House Captain for each house.

The job of the house captains is to take responsibility for the leadership, direction and organisation of their house throughout the forthcoming academic year. Two Deputy House Captains are also elected for each house to support the House Captains in their duties, such as the running of termly House Assemblies.

A big congratulations to Ochre House Team who scored the highest number of house points (5929) for 2022-2023. They will be rewarded with the fabulous science based "Bubble Show" on the 18th October 2023.

House Points

The children are given the opportunity to win house points for their team. House points are given for children for going ‘above and beyond’ what is normally expected of them at school.  House points totals, across all year groups, are shared in our weekly Achievement Assemblies. Please see below for the latest score.
