Year 5

Our first topic this year is ‘Heroes and Villains’. We will be focusing on the Anglo-Saxons, learning about who they were, where they came from, what Britain was like during the period and how they interacted with the Vikings. In class, we will be reading Beowulf by Michael Morpurgo and using it as the stimulus for our own stories about warriors and monsters.

In Science, children will be learning about forces, particularly gravity, friction and resistance. 

In RE, we will look at Judaism and at Humanism, thinking about how a person’s beliefs might influence how they choose to live their life.
