We as parents are extremely pleased with all the care, support and level of attention received. We are all extremely pleased with all the extra effort and work that went into having education continue despite covid. The online classes and homework, home learning were well organised. Bannockburn is such an outstanding school in all areas!
We are very happy with school teachers and staff. They are very helpful. I would recommend this school to another parent. At the beginning of this year my child was shy. They built the confidence of my child.
I am one of the luckiest parents to have my daughter with you as her teachers. Your high expectations have encouraged about all the possibilities and learning opportunities that lie ahead. She is excited about her new class next year and speaks highly of how much you have helped her. I hope you know how much of a positive impact you are making in their lives.
A very big thank you to all the teachers that have made impact in my daughter’s speech development. In fact, we are satisfied with the way she communicates with us confidently. She has been telling us she would like to be a doctor. If her brother has a high temperature she will advise to call a doctor. We are very happy with all you have done.
My husband and I are very happy with our son’s performance this year. His teacher is exceptional and a real asset to Bannockburn. She has supported him personally and academically throughout a very difficult year.
I have been impressed with the progress that my daughter has made this year. Despite the external issues due to the pandemic, the class teachers and staff have worked hard to ensure the learning has continued. I am particularly impressed with how quickly extra support has been offered to my child.
I am very happy as a Mum that my child goes to such a nice school. I feel safe for my child and staff are really helpful.
I have been very impressed with the class teachers and staff at the school. They are quick to provide support and information when it is needed. They treat the children as valuable individuals who each have different things to contribute.
My child’s progress is good. She enjoys learning, books and new topics. Always happy to come to school. All staff at this school are really helpful. I feel that my daughter is receiving everything that she needs. Her teacher has been great at keeping us updated about her progress in her school life.
I really love this school and feel privileged and proud that our child attends Bannockburn. I always feel happy when I drop him off and that he is well looked after and cared for as well as receiving a great education. I am very grateful for all that you do.
It is very evident that the school is very well managed and organised. Our children have benefited from this immensely.
I am very happy with the way that Bannockburn school communicate with parents on child issues.
Thoroughly impressed with the school throughout a challenging year. Home learning provided stability and engagement. Return to school was positive. Our son has been in safe hands and has thrived and developed beautifully. Thank you to the staff who have nurtured and enriched him.
Thank you for the excellent organisation and attention to detail which ensures that any child continues to thrive and is evident that the excellent management and organisation contributes significantly to the settled and happy atmosphere to ensure that each child achieves his or hers potential.
Thank you for the amazing staff in a difficult COVID school year. Online learning was handled excellently. Thank you to brilliant after school club staff.
I find the school to be very good and pleased with my child’s development. Approachable and good teaching from teachers who know what is best for child. Love the school’s monthly values which is fundamental for today’s society.
Good afternoon Bannockburn, I just wanted to congratulate you on the measures that you have in place for Covid-19. Being a former Parent Governor for a Bromley Primary School I fully appreciate the need for good safeguarding. Your School have excellent measures in place and I felt that I should congratulate you.
Thank you for hosting the visit on Friday. The feedback from my staff and the Erasmus teachers was all positive and they really benefited from seeing a different school to our own. They spoke about how passionate the staff were about the children and the learning, particularly the Heads of Site. They could see clearly the ethos of the school and that was clear across both sites. My staff spoke of a 'no excuse' culture; all children had the chance to succeed.
I was very impressed to see the high levels of pupil engagement across all year groups and the differentiation across different year groups. Behaviour was exemplary and adult expectations of behaviour for learning were very high.
The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and the children were all so engaged and friendly. Overall ethos of the school was warm and comfortable. The day exceeded my expectations; it really expanded my knowledge and challenged my thinking through watching how you teach and how the children learn.
I was very pleased to be invited to a number of end of year events.
As always the consideration and care shown by all the staff not only to the children but each other is amazing. Brilliant teamwork!
Congratulations and thank you to the Year 5 children at Bannockburn who participated in the 'Maths 24 Competition' at Middle Park and gained first place. - Head of School Improvement, Inclusion, Learning and Achievement
Congratulations to everyone at Bannockburn Primary for a highly successful finale to their Arts Weeks. Parents and carers were treated to an evening of music, poetry, painting and sculpture with a theme of French speaking countries around the world. There was a buzz of excitement throughout the school as children from Reception to Year 6 spoke confidently to visitors about their learning.
A very big thank you to the staff and children, particularly Acorn and Conker classes in Nursery and Apple Class in Reception. Words alone seem insufficient but once more, I am immensely grateful to everyone at Bannockburn Primary School
I just wanted to say thank you for having us yesterday - we had such a lovely day. The children were all so well behaved and the teachers were all so friendly. Please pass this on as it is always such a pleasure to visit a school with children with good manners.
Dear Mrs Ford, I would like to congratulate you, your staff and your pupils for the very high level of progress pupils in your school are making. Your school's results ashow that yuor school is among the top 3% of schools in England in term of the progress your pupils make between Key Stage 1 and the end of Key Stage 2 in English Reading, Writing and Mathematics. Thank you for your hard work and professionalism in producing such high standards and congratulations again to you and your staff for all you have achieved.
As always I am enormously grateful for the way in which you and the team have hosted the open morning and in particular thanks are due to Mrs Catterall who steered us so ably through the morning. I was in a position to sample the Forest School in action with the nursery children engaged in a phonics activity, a Mathematics lesson with Year 6, focussing on pie charts and proportions and an English lesson with Year 6 with a focus on reading comprehension and literary devices. The age ranges may have been at opposite ends of the spectrum and the activities sampled diverse in nature, but what they all shared was quality in dialogue with the teacher as the critical figure in shaping the skill or concept and creating the ethos for learning.
As ever a great treat to be in the audience for the two Christmas concerts with Year One and Years 5/6. I was captivated by the magic of the Year One production and its distinctive take on the Nativity theme with a fabulous score. The Year 5/6 concert, which married the big swing era to festive songs was also characterised by the full-hearted engagement of the children and some welcome musical challenges which took them beyond their comfort zone. The Plumstead Manor auditorium seemed to me to work well as a concert venue with surprisingly good acoustics and marvellous sight lines for the audience. So please pass on my congratulations to children and staff alike!
I also wanted to say how much I have enjoyed working with Bannockburn over the last two years and getting to know you all. Your commitment, passion and care for the children in the school is evident and I feel I have learnt a lot from working with you all. As I said in the review meeting, I have observed some inspiring and skilled teaching and learning within the school from both teachers and support staff, as well as many warm and nurturing interactions between pupils and staff. I am impressed by the range of opportunities on offer for pupils at Bannockburn and feel that as a school you pay close attention to the social and emotional well-being of the pupils, which is reflected in the happy and settled presentation of the children at Bannockburn, as well as the general calm and relaxed atmosphere within the whole school - not an easy feat given the size of the school and high level of need.
Can I say how much I appreciated the opportunity of meeting with the Year 6 pupils in three classes on Tuesday 6 June to talk about our role as governors. I was struck by the children's engagement with the topic and the probing nature of many of the questions raised, of which the following are just a sample. Why did you want to become a governor? What are the things you like about the school? How many meetings do you attend? I think it is important for children to become aware of the wider educational community and I therefore see this dialogue with the pupils as part of the contribution to that education for citizenship. The opportunity to experience the Arts Week in action was also much appreciated. Governors have always placed great importance on a balanced and wide-ranging approach to the curriculum and it is therefore valuable to see the aesthetic dimension to education being given prominence through the medium of the Arts Weeks. Children can only benefit from the sustained and focused opportunities for artistic exploration in depth. I am very much looking forward to the Year 6 Performance at the end of term and no doubt this will also build on a foundation of experiences which will have taken them into different artistic avenues. Please pass on to colleagues my appreciation, as always, for their welcome and hospitality.
The day started with a visit to Aspen class where we (Robert, Chair of Governors and I) watched an Art lesson centred on The Perspective of an Artist. It was great to listen to the children describe the pictures using keywords. Thereafter, we all went to the hall for Values Assembly, listening to a story on the month's value of 'Friendship'. I particularly loved the exceptional behaviour of the children in the hall with minimal prompts from adults. It was a touching story and the contributions of the children were amazing. The visit to Elder class was spectacular! I loved the masks made by the children, the in-depth attention to detail and the level of concentration was phenomenal. The quality of questions asked by the children was remarkable. In all, the visit confirmed the exceptional behaviours of pupils and the high level of discipline in the school, the outstanding level of teaching and learning in the school. The visit provided an opportunity to see how many resources were provided for the children. I, as the Link Governor for Years 5 and 6, am particularly impressed. I say a big thank you to the Year 6 Team and the leadership for all their efforts.
Now that we have come to the end of the senior leader and middle leader programmes, I wanted to take the opportunity to share my thoughts, with you, regarding the leaders who have attended the two programmes. I have had a career of over 20 years in educational leadership, the last 11 years within the role of facilitator/consultant for the National College of Teaching and Leadership, the Institute of Education, Eastern Leadership Centre and our own company, ES4S. I have had the pleasure of working with leaders in the UK, Europe and Asia and through all of these experiences, I have NEVER worked with a such a passionate, committed and dedicated group of leaders than those at Bannockburn Primary School...they have been an absolute credit to your school. It has been a pleasure to share the learning experience with every one of them and I just hope they have found the professional learning sessions worthwhile with regard to their inpidual and joint leadership development.
