2012 - 2013

In 2012-2013, the school received £76,005 pupil premium funding, which is used to provide the children with appropriate support to make the expected progress in their learning. The additional support includes the following:

  • Pupils working with a teaching assistant for short term intervention programmes
  • Staff training in specific programmes to raise standards, such as training for all staff in the Kagan approach.  Kagan principles target underperforming pupils and pupils with specific needs as well as raising standards for all children
  • Providing an extra teaching assistant in Year 1/2 to ensure intervention groups are smaller and more targeted to need.
  • Providing breakfast club and after school club assistance to support families in need
  • Providing short term assistance with transport to school for families in need
  • Supporting the cost of high quality trips and visitors to enrich the learning experience for our pupils
  • In school counselling and learning mentor support, including training for staff in the ‘Drawing and Talking’  programme
  • Support for pupils with behavioural needs with targeted one to one teaching assistant support as needed
  • Supporting a  variety of after school clubs which are subsidised to make them accessible to a wide range of pupils

This funding is targeted at those children who may not be making sufficient progress.

The national average for Y6 pupils is 27 points so you can see that our Pupil Premium pupils achieved above national average in all subjects.
