School Closure - Update Number 22

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope that this email finds you and your family well.

All staff at home and school have been working extremely hard to provide onsite and also remote learning, making sure that we have fulfilled all additional requirements linked to the current Pandemic.

Thank you for your continued support and patience while we work through the daily changes that this current situation brings.

We know that many of you have questions about the end of this academic year and also the start of the new one in September. The letter below will answer some of your questions but we know not all.

Current School Provision:

We have now completed all registers for the Summer Term reopening.  If you have not been contacted by the end of this week, please assume that your child will not be in school until September, at the earliest. As you will understand, spaces allocation is limited based on current guidelines and risk assessments.

We have also filled all Key Worker and Vulnerable family spaces.

If you have an emergency situation that arises, please contact us directly through

If our provision is full there will be other provisions offered within the Local Authority. We will update you if we receive information of these.

Summer On Site Provision:

During the summer holiday, school will be providing a provision through Activ Kids. This will take place on the Manorway Site.

Activ Kids have kindly offered some free spaces to our most vulnerable and also priority to our Key Worker families. Please do not contact Activ Kids requesting for a free space. Bannockburn will contact you directly if you have been offered the allocation of a vulnerable family space.

The dates of the summer provision are Monday 20th July to Friday 21st August.

This will enable the school to complete a deep clean prior to opening for children on Thursday 3rd September (please note September opening is subject to updates from Government).

Spaces are limited. Please contact:

Tel: 02088368906

Activ Kids hold their own risk assessment and will be able to answer your questions directly.

Please be prepared to send proof of work if you are applying as a key worker.

Summer Off Site Provision:

We will be creating summer packs for all children to do at home during the summer holidays. These packs will include some optional work and the other recommended for them to bring with them when we return to school.

For those children currently attending school, they will bring their packs home with them.

The packs will be ready for collection at the Manorway Site on:

Nursery - Monday 6th July

Reception - Tuesday 7th July

1 - Wednesday 8th July

2 - Thursday 9th July

3 - Friday 10th July

4 - Monday 13th July

5 - Tuesday 14th July

6 - Wednesday 15th July

The Car Park gate will be open between 3pm and 4pm on the dates above.

Alongside the packs, you will be able to collect your child’s school report for this year and a letter informing you of your child’s class teacher for next year, if staying with Bannockburn.

September 2020:

We are still awaiting information from Government regarding the new academic year and will be updated the same time that you are; through the news briefings each day.

If the current guidelines remain in place, then the table below outlines the maximum amount of children that we can have in school:

High Street (Year 1 and 2)

Manor Way (Year 3-6)

2 metres social distance

1 metre social distance

No social distancing

2 metres social distance

1 metre social distance

No social distancing

As you can see, under current guidelines it will not be possible for all children to attend the school setting.  The start and finish times would also need to be staggered which means that there is a possibility of shorter school days. As the situation is so fluid at the moment, we will wait for further guidance and inform you of any decisions nearer the time.

Please be aware that school office and emails will close on Friday 17th July and re open on Wednesday 2nd September. If you have any concerns about a child or family, please contact social services who will be able to assist.

Year 6 Leavers:

We will be sending all parents/carers a letter that contains separate information regarding those children who will be moving to secondary school in September. This will be sent following Government updates on 4th July.

Kind regards,

Bannockburn Primary School
