30 Hours Free Childcare

In September 2017, the Government will be rolling out 30 hours free childcare to children aged 3-4 (Nursery aged children). This is a doubling of the current 15 hours free childcare that is available at the moment.

The scheme is available to working parents, either sole or two parent families. Please see the eligibility guide.

Eligibility guidance for 30 hours free childcare:

  • Your child will be aged 3 or 4 before 31st August 2017
  • Both parents must be working - or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family
  • Each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage. A parent aged 21-24, would need to earn a weekly average of at least £111.20. For a parent aged 25+, you'd need to earn a weekly average of at least £115.20.
  • Each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000

An online eligibility checker will be available via the HMRC website later on in the year.

Bannockburn School will be offering 30 hours free nursery provision in September 2017 for those parents who are eligible.

If you feel this is something that you feel you will be eligible for and would be interested in taking up, please could you email info@bannockburn.greenwich.sch.uk stating your child’s name and date of birth. The subject should be “30 hours free childcare”.

Please note that this does not mean that you will automatically be offered a place in our nursery, our admission policy for nursery will still be applied, however it will give us better idea of need for the provision.
