Fun Run - Latest updates

  • All monies raised will go to Cancer Research so any donations are most welcome.
  • The races will go ahead whatever the weather, so please wear appropriate clothing. Please be aware that parts of Bostall Woods can get muddy. Due to the chance of cold weather and possible snow, we recommend children wear a hat whilst running and possibly gloves.
  • All races will start and finish at Bannockburn Manor Way carpark (on Manton Rd)
  • If you are taking part in the 2k race, please arrive by 10:45am (at the latest)
  • If you are taking part in the 5k race, please arrive by 9:45am (at the latest)
  • If you are taking part in the 10k race, please arrive by 9:30am (at the latest)
  • Sign-In tables for each race will be located inside The Lodge
  • There will be a cloakroom available inside The Lodge for your belongings. However, school cannot take responsibility for any lost/broken items
  • All participants will be expected to sign a waiver prior to running
  • There will be arrows, km signs and marshalls in orange hi-viz vests along the routes. Maps will also be available when you sign in. Please ensure that you follow the correct route
  • The Lodge will be open for both adult/children's toilets.
  • Refeshments will be available to purchase next to The Lodge
  • The runners will have different coloured numbers: 2K=White, 5K=Orange and 10K=Blue.
  • Please attach your running number to the front of your vest (using safety pins, if possible)
  • There are prizes going to the first few runners in particular categories, depending on your age or gender
  • All runners will receive a medal, regardless of whether you ran, walked or crawled, with their distance on.
  • 10K runners will lap around Bostall Woods (x2 times) and Plumstead Gardens (x3 times)
  • 2K runners will lap around Plumstead Gardens (x2 times)
  • Specific timings of runners completing their races will only be recorded for those doing the 10k race. For 2k and 5k please note your own time when passing through the finishing line. A large digital clock will be installed at the finishing line.
  • Anyone wishing to collect their house points, please see Mrs Wallace with your medal on. She will allocate them to your house
  • We kindly ask that runners do not throw any litter on route. All marshalls will have black bin bags for your rubbish
  • Please be aware that the surrounding roads will be busy due to the route of the run so please park a few streets away, or, even better, walk to the race and use as part of your warm up and cool down.
  • All the volunteers (staff, parents and governors) have given up their time free of charge to help support this event, so please treat them with respect.
  • Finally, enjoy yourselves and thank you for helping to raise money for this worthwhile charity.
